    Amazing safari in the darkness

The most interesting zoo we have ever visited! The performance is ok, safari is the highlight! Alan was so excited to see lions and hippos at night.

    Sadly disappointing and rushed

I went to this quite a few years ago and remembered it as lovely but was sadly disappointed this time. Entry times are rigidly enforced. I got there early as I didn't know how long it would take to get there on public transport thinking that I could have something to eat before the safari but all the food/drink outlets are beyond the entry gates so couldn't get anything. Once I was in, I didn't want to waste time on food/drink so they missed out on that business. I would recommend buying an earlier ticket as they seemed to still be letting people with 7.15 entry in at 8.15 but they didn't let the 8.15 entry in until 8.16. (I had problems with the booking payment system and the earlier slots were full by the time I managed to get the payment system to work). There was quite a long queue for the tram ride with people just shouting at us and the actual ride felt quite disapppointing. The trails were better as you had time to stop and look but I felt with a later entry time and reliant on public transport, it was all rushed and I didn't have time to make the most of it. If you had your own transport, then you could take your time. For the time I was in there, it felt like an expensive night and not really worth the money..

    BEST SAFARI EVER!!!!!!!

It is a great experience for people who like animals and zoos but want to experience something new. It is an adrenaline filled amazing experience that makes you feel so close to nature. Not only do the non harmful animals at arms reach it tells like the ones that are meant to be caged are too. That is because the barriers are natural and made from things like water. The animals seem to be happy there and have way more space than in a normal zoo which I as a person who lives animals think is great. The whole experience is enhanced by the driver that explains everything about the animals and nature. I would really recommend everyone who is goi g to Singapore to go there..

    A different zoo experience

My family and I enjoyed the night safari. It was not the usual experience when you Go to a zoo. The creatures of the night Show is a must. Since we were Very tired from walking at the Singapore Zoo, the tram ride was a relief to our tired feet..

I have to agree with similar reviews - I definitely don't think its a 'must do' when in Singapore. It's quite far out of the city and it seems very disorganised and poorly run. We went on a Monday night and there were still big queues, so we did the walking trails first (but we somehow had to do all of them unless we went back to get to where we started!) and it was really hard to see in the dark. We got on the tram around 10pm and it was cool but I wouldn't recommend this to any future visitors to Singapore..

Pleasent experience if you have time!

We visited here on a Saturday evening, pre booked tickets online for a later slot as the earlier ones had sold out but on arrival we were able to enter much earlier. We arrived by taxi as we were staying in the centre of Singapore it was approx 40 dollars and there is a taxi rank for collection afterwards. The staff on entry were friendly and it was organised they checked the ticket date and then directed everyone to scan tickets. There are then 2 routes a queue for the tram or a walking route. There are also shops, toilets and food outlets in this area. We chose to walk the trail as lots of families queuing and I think this would have taken some time. If you walk it’s well signposted and there is info board at each animal point. The paths are slightly lit and all the paths are accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs as well as step access. The noise of children/people was frustrating and meant it took longer for some of the animals to appear. It would be good to have reminder signs to keep the noise to a minimum. The signs around the park are easy to follow and regular maps/routes are on display we downloaded before too. We saw all the animals - leopards, lions, crocodiles etc and there is a bat room whxuh I avoided as not a fan of flying things!! We also heard one of the talks by the rangers. We read the reviews before going, we have been to Africa twice on Safari. This is personal preference - if you have time to spare pay it a visit and walk the route. I’d suggest going later as I imagine quieter. It’s good to see animals but it is always going to be better in their natural habitat. Sign up for a wild card it’s free and go Mon-Fri it’s cheaper!.

Beautiful Night For a walk at Night Safari

It was a beautiful night in which we had never walked to the Indian Rhino exhibit before. We got there by 9 pm just after the feeding session with the public. There were 2 trainers there, one male who was feeding the Rhino and Joy, a lady who was reminding the customers to stay behind the yellow line and not get too close to the Indian Rhino while he eats. It was great to get up close and personal to the Indian Rhinos as we had never done this before. My husband asked Joy if the Rhinos were the second largest land animals and she said its 3rd after the Elephant and Hippos. We accepted what Joy said, but then we went on the Tram ride later and the recorded commentary said exactly that' Rhinos are the second largest animals after the Elephant.' Lol, oh well, we did have a good conversation with Joy who answered all our other questions on the Rhinos, I never knew there were 4, but now thinking back there were Rhino enclosures which were on the tram route after the Hyaenas and white Likns before, so those must be the 2 older female Rhinos and then the zoo bought the 2 male Rhinos from Dubai recently. Joy even showed us the Indian Rhinos teeth, while feeding him leaves, I did not know the Rhinos have teeth, so now I know and have seen their teeth while they chomp on leaves. It was a wonderful visit to Night Safari and I learnt that Indian Rhinos are one horned Rhinos but the White Rhinos at the Mandai Zoo are 2 horned Rhinos..

    Unique experience

Oh what an experience! It was truly one of a kind! Though we loved everything about this visit, the shows were the highlight of the night safari. And don't miss the fire breathers!.
